So if our thoughts create our environment then how is it that they have such a strong hold on us? If it is so easy to see that the thoughts we think affect our moods, our attitudes and our actions then why is it so difficult to change those thoughts and actually stick to it? I find myself in this place quite often. I know that my thoughts affect me but yet it is so hard to change. I think it has something to do with the situations that we find ourselves in and what we actually see around us. The thoughts we think begin to play in a continuous loop and keep us stuck. We see where we are and know where we want to be but getting there is the hard part. I've heard it said that to change from where we are presently to where we want to be in the future we actually have to see ourselves in that place in the future. We do this through visualization, meditation, vision or dream boards and a constant picture we hold in our minds of where we want to be. It is very difficult to do when our environment is such that what we see is clearly not where we picture ourselves actually being. When we wake up every day and look out the window for example, and see a pile of junk it is very difficult to look at it and picture it as a beautiful backyard. No matter how hard we look, it's still a pile of junk. It just amazes me that our thoughts can actually be stronger than that physical pile of junk or whatever it is we see in our environment or surroundings.
So if we want a better life for ourselves and our kids, controlling our thoughts is the only way to get there. If we control our thoughts, it will ultimately change our environment. It is a fact.
